My name is Bunkie Righter and I am so happy that you are ready to take an active part in your healing and wellness! Let’s start to explore how we might be able to work together on your healing journey. 

I wholeheartedly believe that Yoga is a healing force in this world and that we can all benefit from it. Yoga is so much more than bendy postures! My practice exists to work with you to explore the next steps in your health journey with a variety of methods. Together we craft a personal Yoga Therapy plan for you using all yoga has to offer, including breath practices, meditation, somatic movements, mantra, sound practices, mudra, and postures to facilitate your healing.

About Bunkie

Bunkie is an RYT-200 and RYT-300 graduate of Shanti Garudasana Yoga Training School in Williamsburg VA.  She is currently a 300 hour Yoga Therapist through Inner Peace Yoga Therapy located in Durango, Colorado. Bunkie teaches Hot Flow classes at Body Balance and also often teaches classes at WISC in James City County, Virginia. She works with private session clients weekly and teaches free local yoga classes for cancer survivors and their caregivers. Bunkie revels in the opportunity to facilitate classes that are inclusive of everyone.

In addition to her yoga studies, Bunkie has also studied and practiced Buddhist, Hindu and transcendental meditation. She learned Mindbody healing practices for many years, studying with guru Sri Chinmoy in New York, as well as many other practitioners associated with the Edgar Cayce Institute in Virginia Beach.

Bunkie is a great believer that staying on your yoga mat and being in a community of others practicing can foster greater peace and wellbeing for all. When not on her mat or teaching yoga, she loves to hike, cook, create malas and spend loads of time with her large, loving family.
